Course Information for US 119567
First Aid Training (US 1195567) is for persons required to assess the emergency situation and providing basic Life Support and basic First Aid in order to stabilise patients prior to the arrival of Emergency Services.
People that have undergone First Aid Training will be able to: demonstrate an understanding of emergency scene management, demonstrate an understanding of elementary anatomy and physiology, assess an emergency situation, apply First Aid procedures to a life-threatening situation and treat common injuries.
Course Content:
- Medico-legal implications – incl. consent
- Emergency scene management
- Primary & secondary survey
- CPR – one person; adult
- Respiratory distress – incl. artificial respiration
- Choking – blocked airway; adult
- Circulatory shock
- Wounds & bleeding
- Burns & fractures
- Unconsciousness & fainting
- Head & spinal injuries
- Entrance requirements:
